‘Lanna’ opens officially with the launch of 134-page e-Catalogue

Lahore, 3.30pm, May 24, 2025: O Art Space officially launched the online exhibition, Lanna, a striking body of contemporary photographic work. To mark the occasion, a 134-page e-Catalogue was released and shared with the exhibition’s community along with the following statement:
WE ARE thrilled to present Lanna, the third solo exhibition by Lim Siang Jin — a self-taught Malaysian artist whose quiet decades of image-making have culminated in this powerful new body of contemporary photography.
To mark today’s official opening, we are releasing the 134-page exhibition catalogue — a 20-part journey that reflects Siang Jin’s commitment to merging art with narrative. This unique online show also unfolds gradually for many of his viewers, with one part unveiled each weekday over 20 days. Subscribe to his Substack to receive each piece directly and experience the full unfolding of the work with commentary from readers.
Curated by Stephen Menon — one of Malaysia’s most respected artist-mentors — the exhibition highlights how Siang Jin carries his painter’s sensitivity for colour into photography. Stephen, who encouraged this artistic shift, is an internationally acclaimed artist-printer and leads the ArtVoice Community (AVC) in Kuala Lumpur.
At 71, Siang Jin continues to push creative boundaries across both digital and analog practices — fusing painting, photography, and media production in inventive new ways. His artistic language reflects a lifetime of introspection, shaped by modern Western influences and a career in journalism, publishing, and strategic communications.
